Editing Your Gallery
What are the editing steps?
Step 1 - Basic color correction applied to your preview gallery.
Step 2 - Standard hand-editing for images you selected from your preview gallery for your final gallery.
Step 3 - Complete any advanced edits per your request.
All standard and advanced editing are hand-edited to insure an authentic look for your images. However, we selectively use the included AI tools in Lightroom and/or Photoshop to assist in our editing process.
Basic Color Correction for your preview gallery
Each session is provided a preview gallery that includes all usable photos from your session with basic color correction already applied.
We do this so that you have a solid starting point to make informed decisions when selecting your favorite images for the standard and advanced editing processes.
Please note that images receive a greater level of color correction and optimization during the hand-editing process to insure you get the most authentic and beautiful colors possible from your session.
What is standard Hand-editing?
Standard hand-editing is the process of individually adjusting, enhancing, and refining each image to insure your photos are authentic and beautiful!
Standard hand-editing includes the following:
- Removal of small background distractions such as people, beach toys, umbrellas, etc. We do our best to make it look like a private beach photoshoot!
- Hightlight the subject(s) of the photo through lighting optimization, cropping, straightening, etc.
- Small blemish removal, mild skin smoothing, evening out skin tones, natural teeth whitening, etc.
- Final color and light optimization to each image to ensure you get the most authentic and beautiful colors possible from your session.
What's considered an advanced edit?
Advanced edits fall outside of what's listed in our standard hand-editing section.
Kiawah Sands Photography has a wonderful editing team, however, not all edit requests are feasible. In the rare instance that an edit request is not feasible, we'll do our best to offer alternative options.
Common advanced edit requests might be (but not limited to):
- Replacing a smile or a head in a photo
- Removing large background distractions
- Removing a person from a photo
- Adding a person to a photo
Kiawah Sands Photography reserves the right to evaluate each advanced edit request and approve or deny it based on the information provided.
Are there any additional fees for editing?
Each package has a set number of standard hand-editing credits included in the package rate. Additional fees only apply for advanced edits or if you request more standard hand-edits beyond the number of credits already included in your package rate.
- Additional standard hand-editing is $20 per image.
- Advanced edit requests are assessed on a per request basis, but typically start around $50+ per image.
Print packages may also include advanced edit credits with your purchase.
